well maybe am lucky but I find the service ok. Never stand around long for taxi and I think they are cheap. But once I was offered by a driver to take me to the desert for you know what and had to beg h im to take me home. Scared the hell outa me and now I would never take a taxi alone again. So just beware ladies.

starting from Dec 2 " NO" SALIK on taxi fares so cheap people can say we used al garhoud :P

there will be taxi stops as the bus stops in every area starting from Mulla Plaza area in Deira till Satwa Area

I heard in the morning they are going to specify one lane for buses on Dubai Sharjah route. This will also help.

yeah maybe a new taxi business...Dubizzle taxi's for us only members. Employing expensive drivers and exspensive fares.. Ok i'll stick to dubai taxi's then... We are all part of the problem.

People are people, they will always expect things to be perfect, and that is the only hope we have of making the world a better place, if we were to just sit back and accept everything that's thrown at us, trust me, it could be a lot worse. So complaining about people only know how to crib is a paradox to me...

Absolutely, agree with you, but the whole point of the poll being not to whine about the state of Dubai Taxi drivers personally, but more the system that runs it. If there is bad construction in your building, you don't go about sympathising with the poor construction workers, and thereby accept the poor quality, right ?

I blame the taxi company and some of the taxi drivers !!

I can anderstand they are not paid well but hey they ve dicided too !!
I m not complaining to my client because I had a bad day or lost an other contract ! work is work !!!

And still sometime they treat u like shit and are made cause u re not going really far away or even my collegue, she s black and some of them don t stop for her !!!!! can u believe that ??

And I blame the company cause they don t do anough tranning with the drivers ! once the driver told me "it s my first day I ve landed 3 weeks ago" so I decided to tell him the name of most of the building on the way ( didn t mind) but still it s not my job !

And then I m ssure lots of customers are being mean and complain but hey it is the company !!!

I guess most of the problems occur because there are lesser taxi's as compared to the number of passengers. And secondly because of lesser alternatives to Taxi's.

if there were private taxi companies operating in UAE, it would take away profits of Shykh owned taxi businesses.

I think, if taxi companies stop demanding a daily return, and ask a weekly return it would make taxi operating hours a lot more flexible. During certain times of the day, you cannot find any taxi because they are all rushing to submit a daily quota before the office closes down. Their priority is to get to the office, before a fine is levied on them, and NOT THE PASSENGER.

Secondly, the amount of money to submit in a week must be lowered by at least 5%.

thirdly, Taxi drivers should be fined, if they DO NOT accept at least 2 dispatches per day. I have seen too many taxi drivers avoid dispatch notifications as a habit. This is assuming that dispatch calls are made using intelligent GPS to locate closes cabs to the passenger waiting.

look lady, you note the taxi roof color and the TAXI number (not the license plate no.). These people need to be send back to whereever the hell they come from.
and pass this info along to all your other lady friends

Am sure am not the only one it happens too but self preservation came first not their plates or colour of the car and it was dark. I am just lucky to be alive and thats all I cared about at the time. Happens all over the world I guess. I carry a small defensive in my bag now and in my car. My message is this NEVER take a taxi late at night on your OWN espeically women.
